There’s Eren Jaeger, the hot-headed hero of this story, his adoptive sister Mikasa Akerman, their best friend Armin Arlet, their comrades in training Connie, Sasha, and Jean, their superiors Captain Levi and Erwin Smith. I will be doing a small English V Japanese comparison soon but let’s move on for now. I’ve watched the anime mostly in English but a portion of it in Japanese as well. At the same time, I realize this was probably the best way to go about it because the allure and intrigue are so intense, the slow building-up of the revelations only increases the desire to know more. I’m on Volume 14 of the manga and they’ve only just started to put things together. The sweet, sweet agony of waiting for the mysteries to unfold aside, it was frustrating how the story deviated in a dozen different directions and took an incredibly long time to coalesce. What I did find frustrating was that the answers were a long-time coming. I’ve NEVER read anything quite like this. I’ve read many, many stories now, some manage to be stand out in a sea of similar plot lines and cliches, but most are part of the aforementioned sea. Even though everyone is always neck-deep in shit, it’s actually quite exciting. You can’t get enough of this anime, you CAN’T. I’ve been feeling withdrawal symptoms ever since I watched the last episode. The anime is over for now but I’ve still got a couple of manga volumes to cover, thank god. I’ve been watching/reading Attack on Titan since March. A few days passed and I watched the second episode. Then I told her about Attack on Titan and how my brother loved it. So we watched the first episode, and I liked it. When we had exhausted all possible discussion topics and she had been there for a couple of hours, we decided to watch Naruto together.
We will call her Baji here because that’s what I call her. What prompted me to start watching it after all this time was actually a friend’s visit. It took her a few years but she watched the butt-naked weirdos too.
Then she saw him watching huge butt-naked weirdos eating people and being killed. She saw him watch a bald kid with a blue arrow on his round head do silly things, it took her a few years but she watched the bald kid do it too. Eventually, she would sit down and watch a few minutes with him. Once Upon a Time, in a Land Far, Far Away, there lived a girl whose brother tried to watch anime while she annoyed him.
